Gossip & Gists: 2-year-old Twins And Their Nigerian Grandparents Die In USA House Fire

They died yesterday after a fire burned through their Prince George's County home in Maryland.


The twins, Israel and Anna Omijie, were taken to Children's Hospital, but died as a result of their injuries, upon arrival to the hospital. The grandparents, Caroline Omogbo, 55, and Samson Omogbo, 63, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say there were 3 additional people in the home at the time of the fire, the mother of the twins jumped from the 2nd floor and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The other two escaped without any injuries. Samson Omogbo went to the U.S at least 15 years ago from Nigeria after winning a green-card lottery. He started a furniture-restoration business and was able to take his wife and 7 children to the U.S shortly after his arrival. 


They moved into the house last year.

Gossip & Gists: North Korea Invents Hang-over Free Alcohol

Of course, this has nothing to do with nuclear weapons, and the ladies should love it too.


A company in North Korea says it has successfully made a liquor brand that leaves no hangover. The brand, named Koryo Liquour, is made from ginseng indigenous to North Korea and glutinous rice which is cultivated by an organic farming method in the country.

According to state-run newspaper The Pyongyang Times, the brand is ‘suave and causes no hangover,’ and have won a Medal of Quality for those attributes.

And that is despite having between 30 to 40 percent alcohol.

The liquor has already been registered as a national scientific and technological hit. Last year it was ranked top at the fifth national liquor exhibition, came first in the food sector of the 30th national scientific and technological festival, the paper reports.

The Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade 1, is dead.


The monarch, who died at age 101 passed away Tuesday evening after he reportedly lost consciousness. It was gathered last night that the monarch’s corpse has been taken to a morgue as at press time. Other details about Oba Odulana’s death were sketchy as at press time.

When contacted, one of his sons, Prof. Femi Lana, declined comments on the incident. Oba Odulana mounted the throne in 2007 as the 39th Olubadan of Ibadan land. He was the 17th Olubadan since the title was elevated from Baale Ibadan to the Olubadan in 1930. The first traditional ruler to bear the new title was Oba Okunola Abass who reigned from 1930-1946.

Next in line to the throne is the Balogun of Ibadan land, High Chief Saliu A.O. Adetunji.

Gossip & Gists: Actress Blasted By Fans After Posting These "Controversial" Pictures Of Herself Online


Nollywood actress, Joke Jigan has been blasted by her fans after posting this "eye-soothing" pictures of her b0*bs while held up in traffic at Ajah area of Lagos. She took to her Instagram page to post the pictures few minutes ago, with the caption: Stupid ajah traffic
