Interviews & Hype: Diane Keaton Tells Why She Never Married

DIANE Keaton has revealed that she regrets not settling down and getting married — and that Al Pacino was the one who got away.

Giving up on love ... Diane Keaton says she feels as if she has failed at getting married

“It’s not the worst tragedy. But I really wish I had bought myself a man!” Keaton told our source after the release of her latest memoir, Let’s Just Say It Wasn’t Pretty. “A good man who would be a great father, I really do. I think it’s a better way to go.”

The Oscar-winning actress, who has been romantically linked to stars such as Warren Beatty, Jack Nicholson and Woody Allen, said she never tied the knot because she was “not practical” about it.

“I had some insane idea that I had to be ‘in love.’ Now I see what it really takes: real consideration that you’re a good team together,” she said. The man she most hoped to put a ring on was Pacino, a Godfather co-star who she dated for five years.

“But he was even less inclined to be realistic than me. And I was on the cusp of being very old. So that poor guy. I don’t think he was really that interested. And I don’t think a long-term happy marriage would be easy for him.”

Keaton’s new autobiography reveals that the only men in her life now are the 48 photographs hammered to a wall in her house, according to the Daily Mail.

The so-called “wall of men” includes sexy snaps of Elvis Presley, John Wayne, Gary Cooper, Fess Parker, James Garner, James Dean — and an extra special photo of Sam Shepard, which she looks at every day.

Old flame ... Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton in a scene from "Somethings Gotta Give".

“They still give me hope for a house that can never be — a home that exists only in my dreams,” Keaton writes.

One man you won’t find up on the wall is Beatty, a former flame she says she “loved in real time, not reel, and not in photograph.” But she also admitted she only found him attractive from one side. At any other view, “I couldn’t figure out what all the fuss was about.”

Gossip & Gists: Former Elmo Puppeteer Kevin Clash Cleared Of Sex Abuse Charges

The sexual abuse case against the former 'Sesame Street' puppeteer is dismissed by the U.S. Court of Appeals due to the statute of limitations.

Kevin Clash is cleared of sexual abuse charges, The Hollywood Reporter learns. The case was brought to the U.S. Court of Appeals after being dismissed by a New York judge, but it was once again tossed due to the statute of limitations.

The former Elmo puppeteer was sued by at least three men. He was accused of abusing them while they were still minors, but he vehemently denied it. Amidst the shocking allegations, he resigned from the PBS famous children show "Sesame Street".

The ruling basically says that it was too late for the plaintiffs to file lawsuit. The statute of limitations to sue expired three years after they reached 21 years old or "the age of majority" when they should have reasonably realized the physical and emotional injuries they suffered from the alleged encounters with Clash. Also, the suit should have been filed within six years after the alleged conduct.

Gossip & Gists: [Box Office] 'Other Woman' Exacts Revenge With $9.3 Million Friday

The Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann comedy topples "Captain America: Winter Soldier" from the top spot at the North American box office; the late Paul Walker's action pic "Brick Mansions" on course for modest debut.

"The Other Woman"
Fueled by females, 20th Century Fox's comedy The Other Woman topped the Friday box office with a strong $9.3 million from 3,205 theaters for a projected $25 million weekend.

That's enough to unseat blockbuster Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which has been No. 1 for three consecutive weekends. Winter Soldier grossed $4.5 million Friday from 3,620 locations to come in No. 2. The superhero tentpole should earn between $15 million and $16 million for the weekend, putting its domestic total north of $222 million.

Directed by Nick Cassavetes, Other Woman stars Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton as three women determined to expose a philandering husband. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Kinney also star in the $40 million movie, which earned a B+ CinemaScore.

The Other Woman is also prospering in Australia, where it opened last weekend opposite The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The female comedy debuted to $4.2 million for the weekend, compared to $5.2 million for Spider-Man 2 but pulled ahead of the superhero tentpole on Wednesday. It came in No. 1 Thursday and Friday as well.

Spider-Man 2 has still earned more overall through Friday ($9.2 million), but Other Woman has grossed an impressive $8.6 million. The Other Woman opens in an additional 28 foreign markets this weekend.

Brick Mansions, the late Paul Walker's second-to-last film before Fast & Furious 7, is looking at a more modest U.S. opening after taking in $3.6 million Friday from 2,647 theaters. The action pic is projected to earn $9 million-plus through Sunday, putting it at No. 5 behind Other Woman, Winter Soldier, Heaven Is For Real and Rio 2.

From Luc Besson's EuropaCorp and Transfilm International, Brick Mansions cost $28 million to make. Relativity, which is releasing the action movie in the U.S., worked closely with Walker's team and family during the marketing process. The film, written by Besson, was a passion project for Walker, who died in November 2013 in a fiery crash while on break from shooting Fast & Furious 7.

Brick Mansions, set in a dystopian Detroit and earning a B+ CinemaScore, is an English-language remake of the French film Banlieue 13 and stars Walker as an undercover cop who teams with an ex-convict to save their city from destruction. David Belle reprises his role as the ex-convict.

In honor of Walker's memory, Relativity and EuropaCorp have made a donation to his charity, Reach Out WorldWide.

The weekend's third new nationwide player, The Quiet Ones, is doing underwhelming business. The horror film earned only $1.5 million Friday from 2,027 locations for a projected $3.6 million weekend. Audiences gave the film a C+.

From Lionsgate and Exclusive Media, Quiet Ones was directed by John Pogue and stars Jared Harris, Sam Claflin and Olivia Cooke. The movie, set in an estate outside London, revolves around a university president and a team of students who conduct an experiment on a young girl with unspeakable secrets.

Johnny Depp's ill-fated sci-fi epic Transcendence is falling more than 60 percent in its second outing, and is expected to earn only $4 million for the weekend, putting its domestic total at less than $19 million.

Successfully driving up revenue opportunities whilst keeping costs down by innovative use of resources within the organisation.

Enjoy..

What ignited the spark in you to start a new business venture or to make significant changes in an existing business?

After learning from a well trained skin therapist in Germany, the timing was write for me to start my own. I did a lot of research, and I found out that the Philippine has the best skin colour in the world, to make believe, I took a trip to Philippine, did more research and came back home with positive results after several months. Then I asked myself "...if the Philippines can have that beautiful and flawless skin colour despite the daily stress and hardship they face, why can't we African women have same?"

How did the idea for your business come about?

I was inspired by my mentor, Mrs. Rosabel Ufanete Ubong; CEO Rosabel Skinworld. Back then, I watch her on TV, on how she makes different treatments, creams for the skin with pure natural ingredients, I don't miss any of her episodes. At a time, I became very conscious of what I use on my skin, I just found myself imitating her, doing exactly what she does after every episode, it didn't really worked for me then, but the more I practice, the better I learn. Then I decided to push and make something out of it.

How do you find people to bring into your organization that truly care about the organization the way you do?

Well, it's not easy to find people to care for your organisation just like that, it takes a lot of measures, training, hardwork and encouragement to master people to care for your organisation.

How important have good employees been to your success?

I have worked with educated and uneducated people. Common sense and passion are never learnt in school, it is instinctive and often needs to be cultivated by an employee, you never know the capabilities of a person until you hire them, I have been pleasantly pleased along the way as well as gravely disappointed.

What three pieces of advice would you give to college students who wants to become entrepreneurs?

(1) Create an idea and be passionate about it,get people to work for you and sell this idea, (2) seek financial help from successful organisations and push your idea to its peak, but remember success is not built over night, it takes endurance and (3) believe in yourself, work hard and have this in mind; with God, nothing is impossible and never give up.

If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?

I will start with a strategic plan instead of just a business plan, and I'd spend a great deal of time upfront defining my vision for the business, such like; were do I want to be at some point in the future, how would the business serve the lifestyle I want at that date, who are my target customers and what do they say about me and my business?

What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

Hmm.. Networking, learning ability and problem solving. Yes!

What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them?

I sure failed in things, which I need not describe here as they are not meaningful to me now, but in all, I learnt how to take my decisions right and often, hearing and obeying others too much in a way might peg you, also to make my failure my another opportunity.

How long do you stick with an idea before giving up?

If you get involved in a business, you must succeed. I have never given up on anything yet, those that quit will never know how close they were to success, that is not to say your original idea for a business won't change, your plan is always changing and the company you thought you started may end up being something completely different.

How many hours do you work a day on average?

8 hours.

...to be continued
