Gossip & Gists: Non-African Women, What You Should Know And Do When Dating An African Man (Guide)

I bet everyone wants to know what I believe a Non-African woman should know before dating an African men. Correct? Okay before I begin let me just say: Am I saying all African men are the same? No!! Am I saying majority of them have mommy issues?

Non-African Women, What You Should Know And Do When Dating An
African Man(Guide)

Maybe. lol. Dealing with an African men takes lots of patience, the only reason why we, African women have an easier time handling them is only because we are surrounded by them constantly and grew up around them, I know they can be frustrating at times.
God has blessed and created the most beautiful, handsome, manly men in Africa.

However, our fine brothers have started looking into other ethnicities and are beginning to date interracially (putting their chocolate cookie in sugar cookies, raisin cookies, and Macadamia cookies) and it’s okay. One can not stop what the heart likes. There are lots of handsome men out there, in different continents and countries so I’m here to give advice on some things a Non African woman should have in the back of her head when dating an African man.

Here’s a list of what you can expect so you are well prepared:

Henny, dark liquor, Stout, or Heinkein or other heavy beers are their drink of choice.
I don’t know why maybe it’s they want to have that drink as their “special drink” because it’s one of the few drinks most women wouldn’t necessarily see as their drink of choice. Yuck! So the men drink it right up! Oyinbo/Akata: Have at least a case in your house, if your man drinks alcohol and comes to your place and sees you have some, he will be a happy man.

COOK!! COOK!! COOK!!
Even if you don’t like to cook, try and cook a few meals a week. A Nigerian man loves with his belly amongst other things. You know what I’m talking about. Cough. A Nigerian man wants to be able to know that you can properly feed him.
Oyinbo/Akata: Cook your favorite meals, make sure it’s good, Nigerian men are spoiled by the sweet taste of their mother’s cooking so you are going to have to put that work in the kitchen. No African man is always going to want to do take out or go to a restaurant all the time. He wants to know you can cook!

Meat and fish are your best friend
I don’t care, I have yet to meet an African man that doesn’t like meat or fish. When you cook, you must add chicken, goat, turkey, or fish in a man’s food, if not it’s not a complete meal. I’m serious Give him a plate of rice without meat or fish and see his face.

Alpha male
A.M want to show how they are a man, they could show it through their fortunes, how they treats you, or by their religious and mental level. Some times you have to let a man be a man. Nigerian men have big ego and for some enough pride to stretch from here to China. Nigerian men are taught to be the head in the household, the need to take care of certain obligations for a woman comes naturally for them. (Paying for the date.)  They don’t like to feel belittled or not in control, and because of that some are very argumentative and aggressive to protect that Alpha male, macho man persona.

The most sensual, sexual guy you will meet.
I don’t know what it’s like in the open public between you and your African man but I can almost guarantee it’s great behind closed doors, when you guys are… You know what. cough. An African man wants to pleasure his woman, and give her a good sexual experience; married or dating. Nigerian men consider themselves great lovers, if only that were true but even though this might not be exactly true for all Nigerian men, they at least try and put that work in, if you know what I mean.

Nigerian men are crazy but that’s only because they love hard. As much as they might be a pain in your butt or do things that might frustrate you, an African man has all the capability of loving and treating a woman like a queen.

Dating them could be a little challenging if not used to African men, but with some understanding, love, respect, and some home cooking, you will do just fine.

Gossip & Gists: Happy 16th Birthday, Kylie Jenner!!

Clear the roads, California residents. Kylie Jenner is now 16 years old! The reality star and part-time model celebrates that major occasion today, likely by spending time with boyfriend Jaden Smith, but definitely NOT by being in front of the camera very much.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians actress can be surprisingly shy.

Jenner, Kylie

Expect plenty of birthday wishes to be sent Kylie's way today, with Kim Kardashian possibly even breaking her post-baby run of silence and sending out a message on facebook or having her assistant to it at least.

So along those lines, allow us to join in the chorus: Happy birthday, Kylie Jenner!

Gossip & Gists: "I Am A Victim Of Domestic Violence" - Actress Chika Ike Opens Up

Actress Chike Ike pens an open letter to her fans, opening up about the physical abuse she suffered in the hands of the man she called her husband for five years, find her story below...

The past three years has been a very emotional period for me. I focused my energy on work and to build back my self esteem. its been really hard for me to come out straight and talk about this because sometimes I pinch myself to wake up and not believe that I was a victim of domestic violence. I've been through a lot in my life, faced a lot of challenges but this is one topic I've tried so hard to avoid and have been waiting for the right time but I have come to a resolve   that there's really no right time because every second of the day, lives are being lost due to domestic violence.  I was a victim of domestic violence in my marriage and that was the singular reason I left my marriage, aside other reasons.
Growing up as a girl. I was always known as the sweetest kid on the block, before I got married, I have been through some relationships and for once no man had ever laid a finger on me. The first time it happened in my marriage I didn't understand it because I am not the type of woman a man beats but I guess there are no types. It just happens and no woman deserves it. As a young girl I thought it was love or his way of expressing his emotions, after every beating he pleads , cries and says it won't happen again, once again I thought it was love and made excuses for him.  Over the years when it kept happening consistently I started looking for other definitions for it.  I started loosing my self pride, self esteem , self worth, and most painfully i lost  a pregnancy (Miscarriage) I almost lost my life in the process then I realized how serious and abnormal it really was.

I have heard and read a lot of accusations from ignorant people who don't know my story,I guess that's why they are ignorant.  I was 20yrs old and  very naive to the world when I got married .“ They said I married for money“ LOL. I was married to a corporate guy,who had a 9_5 job in a bank, Lives in a rented 2 bedroom apartment at Egbe..  So do the maths! . I married for love. I did a traditional wedding. A white wedding and a court wedding. So that's how much I wanted to be married forever.  For five years I hoped, prayed & wished that one day it will all change. But the last straw that broke the camels back was during a heated argument he threw a glass  jug to my face and I dogged it and it shattered on d wall. I saw death flash before me and I made a decision to save my life. I left my marriage.

Am not saying  this to draw pity from anyone because we are entitled to our opinions and believes. I am not also saying this to discourage people from falling in love because its a beautiful feeling and I still believe in it. I am saying this to educate, share and talk about my experience as a victim of domestic violence because it is real.

We could not immediately confirm  why the actors were dropped, but sources say that it could be in line with a new policy at Glo which favours music acts over Nollywood stars who had almost monopolised the Globacom brand ambassadorship.

Gossip & Gists: BBATheChase Day 71 - Feza, Cleo and Dillish Are Up For Eviction This Week

The tale of Big Brother Africa 2013 is  synonymous with the repetitive analogy of cock and hen – The Chase gets hotter.

#BBATheChase Day 71: Feza, Cleo and Dillish are up for eviction this week

As at day 71 there were 8 housemates left in the game from the 28 that started. The countries represented also dwindled over 10 weeks leaving only 7 countries out of 14 that had begun the game.

This week, another pair would be evicted from the #BBATheChase show, and while it remains a mystery, Africa knows who it would be saving.

During this week’s nominations, Bimp nominated Elikem and Dillish. Elikem nominated Bimp and Feza. Cleo wanted Feza and Beverly out of the game. Feza nominated Elikem and Beverly. Melvin nominated Beverly for eviction because she can save herself and also nominated Feza. Dillish would not like to continue sharing the house with Feza and believes Bimp would be saved by Beverly.

Angelo thinks Cleo is sly and unfit for the house, while Bimp is a threat to his winning the game. Beverly would not stand much of Cleo anymore – as there in no friendship in the game. Beverly also put up Dillish for being cocky.

The breakdown of nominations went thus;

4 - Feza
3 - Bimp
3 - Cleo

2 - Elikem

2 - Dillish

2 - Beverly

0 - Melvin

0 - Angelo

The three housemates that were up on the eviction list initially were Feza, Bimp and Cleo. However as Head of House, Beverly decided to save Bimp and replace him with Dillish.

Therefore, two out of three ladies will be returning home this weekend.

Cleo, Dillish and Feza are up for possible Eviction this week, vote here to keep your favourite Housemate in the game.
