Interviews & Hype: "You Can't Keep A Relationship Without Sex" - Actress Tope Osoba

Below is what the fast rising Yoruba actress said when asked if she believed sex is only for married couples...

Tope Osoba
I think sex is meant to be enjoyed by two people who have serious feeling for each other. Sex is good, it is there for two lovers to enjoy themselves and share the secrets of their hearts.
On whether one should engage in premarital sex or not, I would say, yes. Premarital sex is okay as long as it is a safe sex. Our society allows  it. These days, you can hardly keep a relationship going without sex.
Who agrees with this statement? If you decide to zip up, you can't keep a relationship?

Events: Knorr Taste Quest Episode 6 - Judges Train Contestants On Cooking Techniques

It was a very educative session during this week’s episode of the Knorr Taste Quest as the judges of the show, Executive chef, Dr Roberts and Sou chef, Chef Fregz decided to train and guide the ten remaining contestants into preparing better dishes.

The objective was also to educate the contestants on how to use basic everyday ingredients. This episode was probably a relief to the contestants as it can be recalled that last week, two contestants; Damilola and Aaron were put on probation, and it seemed there was going to be an eviction in this episode.

To bring the training closer to the show, the judges used most of the major ingredients that were given to the contestants as in their previous tasks. They proceeded to train on preparing, portioning and plating food in a professional and appealing way. Techniques addressed during the training session were knife skills, prepping, seasoning and an emphasis was placed on always planning and thinking before starting out the tasks. It should be noted that contestants for the show do not necessarily have to be professional chefs, rather people who enjoy cooking.

At the end of this impressive episode, it was obvious the contestants learned a lot. Every week on Knorr Taste Quest, the contestants pit their culinary skills against one another to discover who will become Nigeria’s best. For this week all the contestants are safe, but Dr Roberts assured them someone would be dropping their knives during the next episode.

Don't forget, prizes worth N10,000 are being won by 20 lucky viewers every week.

Join the community by going to www.facebook.com/knorrnigeria, and also to check out the recipes used by the contestants. Also catch the show on DSTV CH 155, Fridays  & Saturdays at 8.oopm, STV on Saturdays at 8.30pm, AIT on Sundays at 5.00pm, Galaxy on Sundays at 8.00pm, E-Stars (Startimes) on Sundays at 7.30pm and OnTV on Sundays at 6.30pm, you can also watch previous episodes and auditions clips here.

Gossip & Gists: Styling With Beyoncé

It looks like Beyoncé can pull off absolutely any hairstyle! From long, sleek strands, to tight, springy ringlets, and multi-colored tones, this diva’s hair is always on trend!

Although Beyoncé is known for her fierce dance moves and amazing voice (yes World, of course she CAN sing live!), she has a terrific sense of style and her hair styles are always changing. She has gone from blonde sleek and straight to natural curly and even rockin’ a tint of red in her hair.

Beyoncé is one of the current A list super stars who really knows how to rock their hair color and she has used this to full effect over the years. It’s no wonder that she was quickly snapped up to be the face of L’Oreal hair color! Beyoncé’s signature color is beautiful mixture of golden blondes and honey Carmel brown tones, and after years of experimenting with lighter and dark shades, she seems to have settled on a mid-range look that she has totally made her own.

Here, we love a diva that isn’t afraid to experiment with hair color, and digging through the archives it’s nearly impossible to find an occasion where Beyoncé has got it wrong. There have been some criticisms that the star’s preference for a lighter hair color is disrespectful to her African American heritage, however she has gone on record saying how hurtful these comments are, and like any girl, she just wants to have a bit of fashion fun. Beyoncé has said that she never dreamed that one day women around the globe would walk into a Salon and ask for her hair color and style.

Events: American Idol - Season 12, Week 6 - 10 Girls Perform

This week on American Idol (Season 12, Week 6), half of the top 20 guys and girls compete for a spot on the live show. Read E! 365’s recap of “10 Girls Perform,” which aired on February 20th, 2013 to discover what you missed.

In the attempt to keep things fresh after 11 seasons, American Idol is making even more changes. Usually a live audience isn't brought into play before the judges have picked the top 20. This year, however, the top 40 are performing at the Mirage in Las Vegas in front of a live audience. Last night, half of the remaining girls performed, after which the judges narrowed the group down from 10 to 5. Tonight, the same thing with happen with 10 of the guys.

There was an obvious division in this group with about half the girls being superstars and the other half being...let's call them excellent karaoke singers. This set up allowed for very few surprises. The girls who outdid themselves included Kree, who has an effortless quality to her performances; Angela, who stunned the judges in Hollywood with her amazing original song; and Amber, who had a makeover after being eliminated in Vegas last season.

A couple of the girls really bombed, and it makes you wonder how they even managed to get this far in the competition, especially with how many talented female singers there were this season. Country singer Jenny Beth was just okay; Brandy failed to deliver an emotional connection that was consistent with the song lyrics; Shubha's rendition of "Born This Way" was all over the place; and Kamaria - by far the worst - sang in the wrong pitch for the entire song. These 4 stood no chance.

The only real surprise this episode was the elimination of Isabelle, who gave a stunning vocal performance that was better than two of the girls who were kept - Tenna and Adriana. But perhaps it sounds different live than it does at home.

These are the girls who made it into the top 20:
  • Kree Harrison
  • Angela Miller
  • Tenna Torres
  • Adriana Latonia
  • Amber Holcomb
Tonight, the boys perform. Check back tomorrow for an update to our review.

Gossip &Gists: The Carrie Diaries - Season 1, Episode 6 - Endgame

This week on The Carrie Diaries (Season 1, Episode 6), Carrie's attempt to cook Thanksgiving dinner goes horribly wrong. Read E! 365's recap of “Endgame,” which aired on February 18th, 2013 to discover what you missed.

All Carrie wants is to honor her mother's memory by keeping her favorite holiday alive. So she decides to took a turkey dinner just like her mom used to. But the pressure is on because her new boyfriend George and his father will be dining with them.

Dorrit is determined to sabotage Carrie's efforts, so she destroys their mother's recipes and hides the cookbooks. Carrie isn't deterred, however. It's just a minor setback. She calls Mouse to bring cookbooks and help her with the food prep. But things keep going wrong: the stove gets stuck, the turkey catches fire, the power goes out...oh ya, and Carrie catches Dorrit smoking pot! She realizes that Dorrit's reason for sabotaging Carrie was the same reason Carrie wanted to cook dinner in the first place. They both miss their mom, but they deal with it in different ways. Watching Carrie try to fill their mom's shoes only made it harder for Dorrit to cope.

Meanwhile, Maggie eats Thanksgiving dinner at Walt's house, where his parents act uptight and talk incessantly about the educational expectations they have for Walt. She doesn't like that Walt won't stand up to his folks and tell them the truth - that what they want for his future doesn't match his own vision. When Maggie gets home, she thinks for the first time in her life about going to college. Unfortunately, her brother tells her that there's no money in her family's budget. Suddenly, the dream she never thought she'd have is ripped away from her.

Sebastian is supposed to spend Thanksgiving with his mom, but she bails on him to spend the holiday with her new boyfriend. So Sebastian is left alone. He finally winds up at Carrie's house after all the chaos has taken place and George and his father have left. She invites him in and they, along with Carrie's family, Maggie and Mouse start a new tradition - a Thanksgiving dinner of bean dip and salad by candlelight.
